フォーマットの提案
Pokémon Showdownのプレイ可能な4種類のフォーマット群の由来は以下のとおりです。

ニンテンドーの公式VGCフォーマット
- 例: VGC 2020

ニンテンドーの公式フォーマット (Battle Stadium、Global Battle Unionなど)
- 例: Battle Stadium Singles

Smogonの公式フォーマット
- 例: OU, Ubers, Doubles UU

Smogonのメタゲームのフォーマット
- 例: Balanced Hackmons, STABmons
ニンテンドーのフォーマットはSmogonにはコントロールできません。変更をリクエストされても、変更はできないのでご了承ください。
Smogonの公式フォーマットは、主にTierシステムに基づいており、UU、RU、NUなどのフォーマットの合法性は、Showdownの上位ティアで使われないポケモンのみを許可することに基づいています。ルール変更については、SmogonのPolicy Reviewフォーラムで議論することができますが、投稿するにはSmogonバッジが必要です。
一方、SmogonのOther Metagamesフォーマットは、ユーザーが提案するクリエイティブなフォーマットのホームです。これらのフォーマットのルール変更は、SmogonのOther Metagamesフォーラムで議論することができます。
Random Battleについては、Gen8 Random Battles sets スレッドやPast gens Random Battles sets スレッドで変更を提案してください。
